hi patty,

sounds like you`re really new in that business
well let`s start at the very beginning...
first of all you need to download a package, take only the latest version of apache(www.apache.org)
I think its the easiest way if you download the Microsoft Installer ( .msi ) package. To run the installation wizard just double click on the icon. Until you see the Server Information window just click next. You can enter localhost for both the Network Domain and Server Name. As for the administrator's email address you can enter anything you want.

If you`re using Windows XP and install Apache as Service so everytime you start Windows Apache is automatically started.

If you click the Next button and you can choose Typical installation. After clicking Next one more time you can choose where you want to install Apache ( its probably handy to install it in the default location C:Program FilesApache Group ). To complete the installation process click the Next button and then the Install button .

If you want to see whether theApache installation was successful open up you browser and type http://localhost in the address bar.
